Recently, I’m fascinated in a popular American teleplay “The Vampier Diary”. So I am interesting in vampire, and I want to find difference between western vampire and eastern ghost. So I try to write this passage.

Vampier is   traditional culture in the western countries. Just as, ghost is   traditional   culture in eastern countries. I think that almost people don’t believe there are vampire or ghost in the world. Me too.

From many films,teleplays and fictions about Vampier. These all show vampires are usually related with beautiful face, handsome facial features, gentle character, romantic nature. And express vampires are self-contradictory character. Because before they change, they were human. If they become a vampier they still remain human nature, in their heart they don’t want to harm everyone. But they must keep their life by drinking human blood. Human blood can make them more powerful.

They can have supernature behavior, for instance, running as fast as car, can hear sound from several miles, they can compel human mind, the important point they could living forever in this world. But they also have soft spot --- they are afraid of sun.

By comparison, the eastern ghost is a invisible, you can’t see it and touch it. But you thinking that you can feel it.

Ghost and Vampire are human conjecture.But this conjecture is different. Ghost is a imaginary object when the people died. On the contrary, Vampire is a imaginary object about living forever.

Eastern ghosts have many different types, the types are decided by died form. And in the ancient China people usually said exorcism, it mean drive away the ghost.For example, the Chinese spring festival is the biggest exorcism activity in China. People squib firecracker because they are drive the ghost away, to scare the ghost. Parents give children money, put money under pillow. Doing this thing in order to let ghost take money away instead of take children away.

Vampire and ghost is not true, but when western people mention vampire, eastern people mention ghost. People will become thrilling. Because in people impression whether vampire or ghost, they can hurt people,emotional or physical.

I said at beginning human can transit become vampire. If a person change into vampire, he must get away from their family, because he can’t control himself to stop drinking human blood desire anytime. If he still stay, he will hurt even kill everyone even his family member or the people he loved, just in order to content blood desire. After drinking he feel satisfy and then he is sober, he will feel guilty for everything he did, because they do not want to hurt people,but he has desire. So western people are afraid of vampire.

Eastern people fear of ghost, because people can’t see where the ghost is, what the ghost prepare to do, people have no idea.Ghost usually directly cause somebody to die.

The next passage I will continue to compare eastern vampire and western ghost origination.
